Thanks. The otter is all right, Orcas don't usually eat sea otters, the fur sticks in their teeth. One of the orcas did make the boat captain scream when it suddenly surfaced right beside our little boat though. Seriously. Thanks for the laugh, Captain Andrea.
Linda, I will be in Fairbanks next week probably and I'll drop by that Air Museum, I'm off to Katmai National Park tomorrow for a few days camping with the grizzlies. If I'm going to be eaten by a bear, that's the place. Just got back from a few days in Valdez, shag all there but a lovely place to arse about doing nothing.

John, I hope that you get this. Your photos are beautiful. Hope that things are well with you. Maybe you'll get to the Interior and visit Fairbanks. If so, make sure you stop by the Pioneer Air Museum in Pioneer Park!

Great photos of Kilrush! Excellent. I enjoyed that trip to Shankyle, down to the Marina, on to Swan Lake, round the stone wall to Cappa, (thought about walking to the Rock, got lazy), headed up the Fort Road and through the woods. Very good. You should put a link into Kilrush Tourism Website.

Hey there Michael

I completely agree. When I zoomed in on google earth I could even see John McCormack treking the wilds of Alaska. Very good online diary. Atleast if he gets eaten by a bear, we'll know his exact position, and the position of everything else, organic and otherwise, at the time of his demise.

Very enjoyable photographic diary. I liked the one, when I put on the slide show, showing the sea otter relaxing on his back, followed by a series of photos, of Orcas lurking around. (Try adjusting the slide show time frame to 1 sec for max effect).Did he get caught? Also one of my favourites is the railway track in the foreground with Alaskan Scenery behind.

Good photos Skip. I see that some ferry passengers in ALaska were skimming stones when you stumbled outside and thought " ....a whale, my god" and grabbed your camera. The stones skimming on the surface are very suggestive though. I'll keep perusing your site now.
